Amari has begun implementing a full programme of renovation for two of its premier properties; Amari Coral Beach Phuket and Amari Watergate Bangkok, scheduled to complete in 2013 and 2016, respectively.
ONYX Hospitality Group President and Chief Executive Officer, Peter Henley, said “Remaining firm to our plan for continuous expansion, modernisation and pursuit of service excellence, ONYX Hospitality Group has begun renovation activities at two of our most renowned Amari properties in Thailand. The aim of the renovation work is to further establish Amari as a leading, cutting edge hospitality brand reflective of modern Asian hospitality, and embodying Asian flair, a modern perspective and a down-to-earth vibe.”
Amari Coral Beach Phuket, a secluded beachfront property in the Patong Beach area of Phuket, will undergo a series of improvements resulting in full renovation by next year. Immediate changes focus on the upgrading of Deluxe guest rooms and an entirely new facade design, bringing a modern look to the property aesthetic. Rim Talay, the resort’s international restaurant, will enjoy an air conditioned alfresco dining area; La Gritta and The Jetty, Amari Coral Beach Phuket’s Italian and terrace eateries respectively will also benefit from comprehensive refurbishment. The resort spa is to be upgraded to accommodate exacting standards established by ONYX’s new Breeze Spa brand. Landscape and signage upgrades complete 2012’s scope of works, with the full improvement programme due to be fulfilled by the end of 2013.
Amari Watergate Bangkok, one of the capital’s iconic business and leisure hotels, will benefit from this year’s scope of work which includes a full renovation of all of its Executive rooms and Executive Suites, in addition to a comprehensive redesign of its 8th floor landscape area, Function Deck and free-form swimming pool. The fitness centre will be subject to a major upgrade, offering the latest cardio and strength-training equipment, and the hotel spa will also be upgraded according to ONYX’s new Breeze Spa brand concept. Amari Watergate Bangkok’s Cascade terrace bar will enjoy an extension and redesign, along with the hotel lobby which is to undergo Phase One of its upgrade scheme. The work forms part of an ongoing programme of improvement which will see this popular hotel on Petchburi Road renovated in its entirety by 2016.
“The renovation work mirrors the new Amari brand image which places fresh, high quality hospitality locations within easy reach. Even in a busy city centre location, it’s possible to develop a hotel which is accessible yet also designed to be more beautiful and contemporary, in answer to the current demands of our customers.” said Peter.
Amari is the centrepiece of the ONYX portfolio of hotel brands reflecting the warmth and energy of an evolving modern Asia. Amari’s network of properties spans Thailand and beyond, from scenic seaside locations to vibrant urban settings including Bangkok, Pattaya, Koh Chang, Samui, Phuket, Krabi, and Hua Hin. New Amari properties scheduled to open in 2012 and 2013 include Amari Hua Hin, Amari Doha in Qatar and Amari Ludhiana in India. Visit HYPERLINK "http://www.amari.com"www.amari.com
