Exclusive “Yatai & Izakaya Night” at Up & Above Restaurant
From 27 February onwards at The Okura Prestige Bangkok, Executive Chef Sebastiaan Hoogewerf and Master Chef Shigeru Hagiwara from Yamazato will work together to serve up all-you-can-eat Yatai & Izakaya Night delights at Up & Above Restaurant every Saturday evening.
Yatai is a mobile food shops in Japan, which normally sell noodles and street snacks. Izakaya literally means ‘stay-drink-place’, similar to a tapas bar where friends, family and colleagues go to eat, drink and unwind. When both styles of savouries come together, Japanese favourites on the buffet menu include barachirachi & sashimi, yakitori, tori tsukane, takoyaki, okonomiyaki, udon with onsen egg, oden soup, hot smoked salmon donburi and there is a cooking station serving tonkatsu made a la minute.
Other scrumptious buffet options include fresh seafood on ice: lobster, Dutch mussels, razor clams, prawns and oysters served with a choice of condiments, as well as BBQ highlights such as grilled tiger prawns, grilled squid and grilled mackerel teriyaki. A special dish from the kitchen is pan seared foie gras and balsamic reduction, while for dessert a homemade ice cream station and treats like taiyaki and Hokkaido cheesecake guarantee a sweet finish
Yatai & Izakaya Night is available every Saturday from 18:00 – 22:00 and can be enjoyed along additional free flow beverages to complete the traditional Japanese experience. Prices start from THB 1,950++ per person including free-flow juices, mocktails and soft drinks and THB 2,950++ per person for additional free-flow draft beer, curated drinks, wine, soft drinks and juices.
